Notice to Nikon D70 Digital SLR Camera Users

To users of the Nikon D70 digital-SLR camera

Thank you for choosing Nikon for your photography needs.

It has come to our attention that electronic component related to exposure control in some D70 cameras may, on rare occasions, fail. 
Should you experience this problem with your D70 camera, Nikon will replace the associated component free of charge even if the camera's warranty has already expired. 
Please see the following for details regarding the failure of certain electronic component.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have suffered because of this problem.

[ Indications ]

  1. The memory card access lamp blinks continuously and camera operations are locked.
    (When a CompactFlash memory card is inserted.) 

  2. The camera will not turn on despite the battery indicator showing a fully charged battery.
    (When a CompactFlash memory card is not inserted.) 

Only when both indications occur, Nikon will reimburse the cost of repairs to those users who have already paid to have this problem corrected, in addition to repairing this problem free of charge.
