Hong Kong - Nikon Corporation launched the brand new 1 NIKKOR 18.5mm F/1.8 1 NIKKOR lens today, the latest complement for the Nikon 1, an advanced and powerful interchangeable lens digital camera that combines portability with performance.

With the fastest maximum aperture in the 1 NIKKOR lineup, at f/1.8, the 1 NIKKOR 18.5mm F/1.8 is a lightweight and portable 18.5-mm (angle of view equivalent to 50 mm in 35-mm [135] format) fixed focal length (prime) lens. The combination of an aspherical lens element with the latest optical design results in extremely sharp rendering, beautiful blur effects and a three-dimensional feel expected of a fixed focal length lens.

The lens' high speed allows it to not only capture sharp, blur-free images indoors under dim lighting conditions without the need to increase ISO sensitivity, it also supports incredibly fast shutter speeds of up to 1/16,000 s; letting users fully utilise the lens' beautiful blur ability even outdoors on bright, sunny days.

What's more, weighing approximately 70 g, the 1 NIKKOR 18.5mm F/1.8 is the lightest lens in the 1 NIKKOR lineup, making it extremely easy to carry around.
