SINGAPORE, 31 March 2015 – Nikon Singapore Pte Ltd is proud to support the inaugural Young Creative Photographer Awards, a competition organised by Siglap Secondary School, as the official camera partner. Themed "YOLO! You Only Live Once", the competition is targeted at budding young creative photographers attending primary and secondary schools in Singapore.
The competition will see a stellar panel judging the students’ submissions – Nikon Professional Photographer, Scott A. Woodward, who was also named one of Luerzer's Archive’s "200 Best Ad Photographers Worldwide"; Joyce Fang, chief photographer of The Straits Times; and Mr Chow Chee Yong, the first and only Singaporean among 15 photographers from around the globe to be recognised and incepted in the 2011 Loweprofessionals Professional Photographer Showcase.

As the official camera partner, participants will also stand a chance to win five sets of the latest Nikon DSLR cameras simply by shooting and submitting one to three photos that shout “YOLO!”.

Held in conjunction with Season 4 of the Young Illustrator Awards which is supported by NOISE Singapore and National Library, the inaugural Young Creative Photographer Awards will greatly boost the vibrancy of our local youth art scene by bringing even more creative visual works to audiences across the nation. The Young Illustrator Awards, which aims to promote the love for doodling and drawing among young children and youths, provides a platform for young artists to showcase their talents to a wide audience and encourages networking among art lovers through a buzzing online community.
Ms Sim Ann, Minister of State, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Communications and Information, graced the event on 23 March 2015, at the Central Public Library at 5.45pm. She presented awards to student winners of the Young Illustrator Awards Season 3, and launched the Young Siglap Illustrator Awards Season 4 and the Young Creative Photographer Awards.

About Scott A. Woodward
Singapore-based, Canadian photographer Scott A. Woodward calls his photography style “Choose Your Own Adventure Photography”, after the books he used to read as a young boy. Literally and creatively, Scott can go one direction and discover a remarkable photographic opportunity; or he can go another direction and find something entirely different.
